About Us

Onyx Building Group Inc. was established in 2009 as a Woman Owned Small Business specializing in Federal work. For the last four years, performing on a variety of projects from F-22 Radar Facilities, Battle Command Centers, Bachelor Enlisted Quarters, and Deployment Centers Onyx has established itself in the Construction Industry. As a California licensed C-9 contractor specializing in Drywall and Metal Framing, Onyx has spanned its reach to perform in New Mexico, South Dakota, Utah and Colorado. Having been a partner on a variety of construction teams taking pride in reputation and quality work; Onyx continually meets and exceeds the industry standards demanded by the projects performed. While Onyx’s experience in this sector has proven invaluable, they continually strive to cultivate an attitude of progress and improvement. Most recently, this attitude has manifested itself in the acquisition of new talent; in the form of the Miranda Family.

Included on Onyx’s team is the experience and expertise of Gilbert Miranda, 46 years’ experience in the lath and plaster industry, Brian Miranda, 29 years estimating lath and plaster and Eric Miranda, 22 years’ experience in estimating and project management. This growth has allowed Onyx to include Lath, Plaster, Air Barriers and Sprayed on Fireproofing as well as EIFS to their list of works performed (C35 classification). Both Gilbert and Eric have served as President of the Associated Plastering and Lathing Contractors of San Diego and currently sit as board members. Certified by the California State License Board as an Industry Expert in Lath and Plaster, Onyx looks forward to the future and is dedicated to achieving the highest performance.
